At Foundation Scotland we’ve been supporting communities to shape their future for almost 25 years. As Scotland’s community foundation, we power transformative funding.
Since we began, we’ve provided £100 million in funds. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we have been at the forefront of the Scottish third sector response, chairing the Scottish Emergency Funding Advisory Board and making, through our own Response, Recovery and Resilience Fund, over 1200 grant awards to the value of over £6.5 million to support communities.
Now, as we prepare for our 25th anniversary in 2021, we have a new Strategy that drives exciting and ambitious plans to support Scotland’s communities in the years ahead.
Can you spare a little time to make a big difference?
If the answer is yes, we encourage and welcome your application to become a Foundation Scotland Trustee.
By enhancing our current Board, we strive to support, empower and represent the diverse communities we serve across Scotland. You don’t need previous board-level experience to join our Board. Our experienced Board will welcome your contribution in helping us to develop the Foundation. In return, we will support your development in the Board arena. We will support and mentor our Trustees, and we will invest in your development.
We’re particularly keen to welcome new Trustees who can share skills and experience in one or more areas, including:
- Digital leadership
- Marketing and Public Relations
- Legal or estate planning for individuals
- Academic or Policy Research - with societal or community focus
- Human Rights and Ethics
- Community Development (particularly urban)
- Third Sector leadership
- Social Finance
